I’m a science graduate with a First Class Honors degree in Biomedical Science from Northumbria University, UK. I’ve been working as a full time personal home tutor for almost 2 years. Currently, I conduct the classes at my residence in Kalalgoda, Pannipitiya. In addition, I offer online tutoring sessions as well through online platforms such as Zoom. I apply the knowledge gained through my tertiary education to teach Science, Mathematics, Health science and English to students in intermediate grades (grade 6- O/L). I teach both the local / National syllabus as well as the London syllabi (Cambridge and Edexcel). The lessons are delivered in a very interesting, easy-to-grasp manner along with spot tests, short notes and Q and A sessions. Past papers and revising sessions also will be done prior to examinations. Individual attention is given to each and every student. Small group classes can also be arranged if necessary. Additional support and elaborate explanations will be given to students having issues with languages barriers and other studies-related concerns. As I strongly believe in letting students excel in each subject, while letting them discover their own passion and strengths, these tutoring sessions will definitely help them face day-to-day study-related activities as well as the competitive examinations with courage and confidence, thereby securing good results in their educational career. Through the teaching experience gained within this period, I make sure to understand the capabilities and strengths of each student and cater them according to their needs. I try to identify their gaps in knowledge and the deficit areas in the subjects and let them understand and improve those at their own pace with constant assistance and instructions. So each session is conducted in a peaceful, safe environment with constant guidance, patience and with a very energetic, positive attitude.
